1990 FTM MOTION #28 (RATIFIED - 90 FBM - MOTION #18)
  Wendy Harmen moved that a Group Commission be struck consisting of one representative from each province.

 

1990 FTM MOTION #29 (RATIFIED - 90 FBM - MOTION #18)
  Wendy Harmen moved that the CBTF Technical Committee select a group commissioner. The Group Commissioner will then contact the Provincial Technical Reps to find out the names of the group reps for their province. The province will choose their method of selection.

 

1990 FTM MOTION #30 (RATIFIED - 90 FBM - MOTION #18)
  Wendy Harmen moved that the CBTF Technical Committee select Brenda Bennett as the National Group Commissioner. Brenda will be in contact with the Provincial Technical Reps. within the next month to get their selection of group reps.

 

1991 STM MOTION #13 (RATIFIED - 91 SBM - MOTION #24)
 

Suzanne McGaghey moved that we establish a Group Committee that will consist of a maximum of 2 delegates per club/group, with one vote per club/group; the CBTF National Technical Chairperson, a coaches rep, a judges rep, an athletes rep,and the CBTF Group Chairperson who will each have one vote; and

That the Group Committee meet in the fall of 1991, in Toronto, before the Annual Fall Technical Meeting and that each club/group is responsible for getting their representatives to the meeting. The tentative dates for this meeting are Sept 21/22, 1991.

 

1991 FTM RECOMMENDATION (RATIFIED - 91 FBM - MOTION #25)
  That the Group Committee consist of one representative from each province, following guidelines previously stated. They will also publish a number of newsletters (the number to be determined by the committee). Group meeting at the National Conference. The National Technical Chair, National Judges Rep and National Coaches Rep will also attend.

 

1991 FTM MOTION #3-14 (RATIFIED - 91 FBM - MOTION #38)
  Betty Infilise moved that Jennifer Meron be appointed the CBTF Group Commissioner effective immediately.

 

1992 STM MOTION #9 (RATIFIED - 92 - SBM - MOTION #27)
  Betty Infilise moved that the minutes of the group meeting must be sent to the Board of Directors within two weeks of the July 4/92 Group meeting and that a motion form will be included with the minutes approving the Group Committee minutes. This form must be returned to the CBTF Secretary within 30 days.

 

1992 FTM MOTION #72 (RATIFIED - 92 FBM - MOTION #8)
  Theresa Eyssens moved that, due to the amount of research manual and rules and regulations revision for Corps and Teams, Jennifer Meron be selected as a Judges Group Course Conductor by acclamation.

 

1993 FTM MOTION #54 (RATIFIED - 93 FBM)
 

Nancy Beachin moved that the recommendations from the Group Commission Meeting (July 6/93) be approved.

  1. That we annually examine the possibility for re-implementing B level for groups.
  2. That we re-implement twirl teams at the level C status. Teams would be done to a standard piece of music chosen by CBTF. The event focus would be synchronic twirling and exchanges.
  3. That the guideline for CBTF group awards be reviewed and that all provinces should be encouraged to follow these but that they should be strictly adhered to at the National level.
  4. That CBTF develop a written range description to judge dance twirl teams.
  5. That the group scale of proficiency range descriptions be adopted for use by judges throughout Canada.
  6. That, at provincial group qualifications, the top 3 or 50% of the class will advance to the Canadian Elite Championships, whichever is greater, rounded up.
  7. ** That all CBTF groups be comprised 100% of athletes from said province to compete in a provincial competition. Groups not meeting these guidelines may still enter International Open at Canadians and thereby qualify for Canadian Elite Group Championships. Eff: Sept 1/94.

  8. That, after the deadline for the status declarations has passed, changes in a group's size, age or status only be allowed within valid medical or financial reasons, given to the competition director and provincial group rep. five (5) days prior to the event.
  9. That the maximum number of alternates allowed per group is 40% of the competing twirling members.
  10. That at all competitions, group results be sent to the group reps. of all the provinces from which there are athletes competing.
  11. That alternates for all CBTF group events be listed separately on the declaration form.

 

1992 FBM MOTION #18
  Marinus Vandermeer moved that CBTF cover travel costs for Karen Gratton to attend the Group Course Conductors seminar in Saskatoon in January 1993.

 

1994 WTM MOTION #30 (RATIFIED - 94 SBM)
 

Nancy Beachin moved that representation on the Group Commission be as follows:

  • 1 vote per province
  • 1 additional vote for provinces with more than 10 competitive clubs
  • 2 additional votes for provinces with more than 15 competitive clubs

The declarations would serve as proof of number of clubs.

 

1995 FTM MOTION #1 (RATIFIED - 95 FBM)
  Karen Gratton moved that Brenda Hall, OBTA Group Rep, be allowed to represent the Group Commission at the 1995 Fall Technical Meeting and have the right to vote on behalf of the CBTF Group Commissioner.

 

1997 SBM MOTION #22
 

Rita Eggett moved that clarifications of the number of representatives permitted to attend a CBTF Group Committee Meeting be provided with the agendas for all Group Committee Meetings based on the CBTF Group Declaration records for each year.

Effective immediately
