That Twirl Canada be responsible for the following pertaining to the 1983 Training Camp for the Canadian Contingent:

  1. Rental of McMaster University Gym (9am - 5pm August 19-21, 1983 - cost $350.00).
  2. Accommodation and breakfast of athletes at McMaster University.
  3. Video-taping costs.
  4. Expenses incurred by Dr. Peter Bender, Sports Psychologist.
  5. Accommodation and breakfast for Technical Chairman, Ron Kopas and his committee.

Ron Kopas moved that Board of Directors members return to own provinces and research:

  1. The Provincial sports directors on funding prov. Teams.
  2. Find own provincial philosophy regarding team members from other provinces.

  That proposals for establishing a Baton Twirling Hall of Fame as outlined in the 1985 Award Chairperson's Report be accepted in principle.

  Ron Kopas moved that the CBTF donate a Canadian flag to WBTF to be used at World competitions in opening and closing ceremonies.

  Ron Kopas moved that WBTF be contacted and asked to correct the banner flag so the maple leap is positioned correctly.

  Betty Infilise moved that both the Eastern Vice-President and Western Vice-President compile information on nutrition relating to sport.

  Sandra Watt moved that, in order to meet our mandate of formulating technical programs for Canada, the National Technical Committee requires direction from the National Executive including basic philosophies, aims and objectives, short range and long range plans.

  Tim King moved that the CBTF/WBTF Freestyle Seminar held in 1990, the date be set by Nov 19/89 by the CBTF Technical Chair with the Ontario and Saskatchewan Presidents.

Tim King moved that the Technical Committee recommend to the CBTF Annual General Meeting that the CBTF Treasurer pay the cost of current CBTF membership for all unpaid active honourary members for the year 1989-90.

(Note: Motion #14 was deemed necessary as a result of lack of privileges in this membership classification as per the current Constitution.)

  Elva Taylor moved that regardless of whether we recoup the income generated from funds sent to Kathy Jorgenson for the Who's Who, that CBTF publish (through Josten's) and distribute said publication as soon as feasibly possible.

  Ron Kopas moved that the National Technical Chair send a reminder to all provincial technical advisors and BOD that the National Scale of Proficiency for flashcard judging and freestyle must be adhered to by all until it is further reviewed.

  Nancy Beachin moved that Canada bid for the 1994 WBTF Championships.

  Theresa Eyssens moved that CBTF sponsor a weekend workshop to work with coaches and administration in Quebec to discuss methods to increase participation in their province.

  Theresa Eyssens moved that CBTF investigate a limited participant membership that allows provinces to run 1-day, 1-week programs and offer a promotional membership to those participants.

At every CBTF meeting the secretary or chairperson will check off the appropriate box.

  Brenda Bennett moved that it will be expected that all athletes representing Canada at the World Championships, their coaches and parents must cooperate as a unified team at the Team Camp and at the World Championships to the best of their abilities.
