Declaration Process - WBTF Pair & Team

1989 FTM MOTION #24 (RATIFIED - 1989 FBM - MOTION #16)
  Nancy Beachin moved that WBTF Teams declare a maximum of 11 members in all (9 members plus 2 alternates) of their team by their Provincial Team Trials. Within that 11 membership you must compete at the Provincials, Regionals, Nationals and Worlds. If not abided by at the Provincials, Regionals or National level, a 40 point penalty will be assessed. From Canadian to World Championships, if not abided by, the alternate team would be sent to Worlds.

  That the Technical Committee look into dropping the declaration ruling.

 

MAY 1994 SPEC TECH MTG MOTION #4
  Linda Boyd moved that the 40 point penalty for not abiding by the motion made at the 1989 Fall Technical Meeting that clarifies maximum of eleven members (9 members and 2 alternates) be declared by the Provincial Team Trials date, be assessed as follows: Forty (40) points be deducted from the Gross Total Points prior to averaging scores and deducting penalties.

Elan Paluck moved that all WBTF Team and Pair declarations be sent by the provincial technical postmarked March 15th. Twenty-one days later, the representative to the CBTF National Technical Chair, or designate, declaration becomes official. Each province will determine their own internal deadlines needed to meet the above dates. No changes are allowed after the March 15th deadline. The twenty-one days are to be used for the verification of adherence to CBTF rules and regulations.

1994 FTM MOTION #4 (AMENDED & RATIFIED - 94 FBM - MOTION #12)
 

Loranne Meek moved that a WBTF Team or Pair will not be permitted to compete at Provincials or National Team Trials if the CBTF Technical Chairperson has not received their status declaration form postmarked by March 15th of that year from their respective technical representative. It will be the decision of the province as to whether the team/pair will perform for comments only.

Jennifer Meron moved that, once the National Technical Chairperson has verified all WBTF Team/Pair Declarations, a list of all teams/pairs will be forwarded to each provincial technical chairperson who will then distribute same to all coaches and competition directors involved.

Linda Boyd moved that the WBTF Trans-Canada Teams and Pairs must declare in the province they intend to compete in.

  Theresa Eyssens moved that the decisions and procedures followed by the CBTF Executive with respect to the 1995 WBTF Team and Pair Declaration be accepted.

 

1995 STM MOTION #15 (RATIFIED - 95 SBM - MOTION #21)

Karen Gratton moved that the national deadline date for WBTF Pair and Team Declaration submissions be postmarked by March 15th of each year. Each province's declarations will be considered official when the CBTF Technical Chairperson notifies each province in writing that their declarations are official. This must be done prior to that province's team trial event. The CBTF Technical Chairperson will issue a listing of all declared WBTF Pairs and Teams to all provincial technical chairpersons for distribution to all involved coaches and competition directors.

Loranne Meek proposed that the WBTF Pair/Team Declaration Organizational Flow Chart be accepted as amended.

1997 FTM PROPOSAL #40 (RATIFIED - 97 FBM - MOTION #22A)
 

Leisha Strachan proposed that the WBTF Pair and Team Declaration Forms be revised to include the following:

  1. Add at the top "Name of Team"
  2. Add beside "Province of Residence" - "Indicate (check mark) Canadian Citizen"
  3. Add: "Address of Contact Person"
  4. Add: "All three copies must be forwarded to the Provincial Technical Rep and then to the National Technical Chairperson for signatures. Coach's copy will be returned, signed, after approval is granted. Forms to be distributed as follows: Original - National Techical Chair, Yellow - Provincial Technical Rep, Pink - Coach."

2000 WTM PROPOSAL #12 (RATIFIED - 2000 SBM - MOTION #9)
 

Jennifer Meron proposed that Level B WBTF Teams and Pairs must declare as per the the same procedures as Level A WBTF Teams and Pairs are using.

2003 SBM MOTION #16
  Carolyn Foster moved that the declarations for WBTF Pairs and Teams and CBTF Groups be received by CBTF by April 1st of each year.

 

2003 SBM MOTION #17
  Betty Davis moved that, due to the nature of the WBTF Team event, changes may occur which may affect a group's declaration. To facilitate a permanent change due to injury, illness or other extenuating circumstance, the Club Director must notify the CBTF Technical Chairperson in writing and submit an amended Declaration Form noting the reason for the change. The CBTF Technical Chairperson shall review and evaluate the request and present a recommendation to the CBTF President for approval.

 

2009 FBM MOTION #14 (2009 FTM-Prop#4)
 

Karen Gratton moved that the Provincial Trials entry form shall serve the purpose of a WBTF Pair and Team declaration.

CLARIFICATION: For Team, up to 2 alternates may be named on the entry form.

CLARIFICATION: No separate WBTF Pair or Team declaration form shall be required.
