Judging Applications - 2014 Team Trials, 2014 Nationals, 2014 World Championships
September 30, 2013 - CBTF- and USTA-certified Judges are invited to submit an application to judge at the following 2014 National and International competitions.
- Canadian Team Trials (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; May 16-19, 2014)
- Canadian Winner/Championships and Maple Leaf Open (Calgary, Alberta; June 28-July 4, 2014)
- WBTF World Championships (Nottingham, United Kingdom; August 6-10, 2014)
- Note: These dates are subject to change. Judges selected for any of these events will also have pre- and post-competition responsibilities.
All registered and current judges who have any of the following CBTF/WBTF certifications are invited to apply:
- CBTF Module 2
- CBTF Module 3 & 4 (old course) or CBTF Module 3 (new course-effective Jan/10)
- CBTF Module 5 and/or WBTF Masters Judges
ALL CBTF Judges with the M2 certification or higher are strongly encouraged to participate in the practical assignment series as a learning opportunity. An online recap meeting will be held in early 2014 where all participants can review their assignments and ask questions of the expert panel. This is an excellent way to kick-off the new competition season as well as a wonderful way to prepare for next year when Canada will be hosting the world at the 2015 International Cup.
Qualified applicants will be assessed by the 2014 National Judges Selection Committee on three attributes:
- Judging experience
- A series of time-limited practical assignments, distributed beginning October 28, 2013
- Other qualities (e.g, contributions to the sport in terms of leadership/volunteerism as well as personal growth and development in baton and related disciplines)
The Judges’ Selection Committee has the final and complete authority to determine the members of each judging panel for each of the above competitions. The Judges’ Selection Committee is responsible to the CBTF Board of Directors, Executive and Technical Committee. The CBTF Executive has final and complete authority to determine the members of the Judges Selection Committee.

Completed applications must be received by October 20, 2013.
