2013 IC - Netherlands-Belgium Tour

April 25, 2013: Please note a change to the tour itinerary. The trip to the Zuiderzee has been replaced with a visit to the Anne Frank house and museum.

This year's post-competition private tour hits the highlights of the Netherlands and Belgium area.

Our tour package includes:

  • 3 nights in hotels along the route in Superior tourist-class hotels, twin bedded rooms with private bath or shower
  • Dinners are August 12, 13 and 14
  • Breakfasts on August 13, 14 and 15
  • Our own air-conditioned bus and tour guide for the entire tour

Our tour begins with a pick-up at our competition hotel, includes visits to several World Heritage Sites as designated by UNESCO, and concludes in Amsterdam. Transfers to the airport are included for those that are departing - but you are free to extend your stay to see more of Amsterdam, The Netherlands or other parts of Europe!

The tour itinerary:

  • Day 1 – Monday August 12 – Amsterdam, Holland: After you check into your hotel and meet your tour director you will enjoy an excursion to A Museum with a Story. Visit the hiding place where Anne Frank wrote her diary during the Second World War. This evening enjoy dinner at the hotel with your fellow travelers. (D)
  • Day 2 – Tuesday August 13 – Amsterdam – Brussels, Belgium: This morning admire the scenery on the way to Brussels. When you arrive enjoy a guided orientation that features the Rue Royale, the Parliament Buildings, the Royal Palace, and Saint Michel Cathedral. Continue on foot and enter GRAND’PLACE to admire its baroque guild houses and the gothic Town Hall. You cannot leave Brussels without touching the statue of Everard ‘t Serclaes, a 14th-century hero, for good luck, and taking pictures of the tiny but world-famous statue of Manneken Pis. Tonight enjoy a lively dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
  • Day 3 – Wednesday August 14 – Brussels – Bruges - Amsterdam, Holland: This morning we leave Brussels and make our way towards Bruges for lunch, beer tasting and some time explore on your own. After lunch make your way back to Amsterdam to enjoy a canal cruise to see the town from water level, then watch the cutting and polishing of precious stones at a diamond center in Amsterdam. This evening a farewell dinner awaits you at a local restaurant to celebrate the success of your vacation (B, D)
  • Day 4 – Thursday August 15 – Amsterdam: Your vacation ends today with breakfast in the morning and a transfer to the airport to board you scheduled homebound flight. (B)

Pricing and itinerary are subject to change once we confirm our numbers, but we anticipate something between $865 and $900 per person, which includes all tips and taxes (which, in Europe, do add up!). A single supplement is available for $150.
