Group contact lists for the National and Provincial Boards and various CBTF Committees. We encourage you to use these group email lists to avoid missing someone.

We also maintain private contact lists for various groups, which are accessible by Board of Directors and Technical Committee members only. If you have access, please treat these lists with respect - they are meant to facilitate communication between Boards in each province; they are not meant for broad distribution.

 

In recognition of their position and/or achievements, the following athletes shall be given the honour of carrying the Canadian Flag at the following events in a given year:

PROVINCIAL EVENTS

  • Open Competitions: Province’s choice.
    Suggestions: Provincial Athletes Rep, provincial winner or champion from previous year
  • Provincial Winner/Championship: Province’s choice.
    Suggestions: Past year’s Provincial Sr Freestyle Champion or Provincial Jr Freestyle Champion, Provincial Athletes Rep

NATIONAL EVENTS

I.     The CBTF National Skills Development Program (Badge Program) – This program serves as an incentive and motivator to athletes of all levels. It is designed to teach athletes correct baton and dance basics and standardizes sport terminology across Canada.

Advocate, coach, competition director and pioneer for baton twirling in Ontario, Canada, and the USA.

Sue passed away April 26, 2018 in Kitchener, Ontario with family at her side.

December 5, 2018 - Declaration Lists for all 2019 International Cup events are attached. Errors or omissions or corrections should be reported by email to ic2019atcbtf [dot] ca.

November 18, 2018 - CBTF- and USTA/WBTF-certified Judges are invited to submit an application to judge at the following 2019 National and International competitions:

The CBTF Long-Term Athlete Development model is attached below.

It depicts 8 stages of participation:

Athletes (Individuals, Pairs, Teams and Groups) interested in becoming members of the Canadian contingent that will participate in the International Cup and Grand Prix being hosted in Limoges, France August 5-8, 2019 must first declare their intent to compete.

Declarations (and Deposits) must be received no later than November 25, 2018 to ensure consideration.

October 19, 2018 - The Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is now accepting applications for the position of Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2019 WBTF International Cup and the 2019 IBTF Grand Prix competitions, both in Limoges, France.

CBTF will select one team manager, who will be responsible for the International Cup and travel with that contingent, and funded as is usual. CBTF will also engage one team manager, who will be responsible for the Grand Prix and be funded as is usual.

August 22, 2018 - The Lynda Garland "Award for Excellence" was presented for the tenth time at the Canadian Baton Twirling Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The recipient of Lynda Garland's "Award for Excellence" was Lynda Boyd of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Please note that the set numbers for several Solo divisions have been adjusted from what was published in souvenir program. The affected divisions are in Lanes 2 and 3, and are highlighted in yellow in the set system. The following divisions are affected:

  • Lane 2, Solo BI 12-14
  • Lane 3, Solo BN 12-14
  • Lane 3, Solo A 15-17
