1987 FTM MOTION #42
  Moved that the term "Handicapped Athletes" be amended to read "Special Needs Athletes".

 

1990 STM MOTION #15
  Bev Latrace moved that Special Needs Athletes be scored with the existing CBTF scoring systems and that the awards given be the same as those for other competitors.

 

1996 STM PROPOSAL #2 (Ratified - 96 SBM - Motion #13)
 

Karen Gratton proposed that a Special Needs Commission be created to address concerns and procedures regarding Special Needs Athletes. Alberta is to develop recommendations for presentation at the 1996 Fall Technical Meeting.

DIRECTIVE: That Alberta receive input from Tanya Mouland (coach of a special needs athlete), an Alberta athlete's parent and a BC athlete's parent.

DIRECTIVE: That Jennifer Meron, CBTF Group Rep, send in proposals from a group's perspective.

 

1997 STM PROPOSAL #2 (Ratified - 97 FBM - Motion #15)
 

Tina Larson proposed that the Special Needs Proposal be accepted as presented with revisions.

1997 FTM PROPOSAL #31 (Amended & Ratified - 97 FBM - Motion #22a)
 

Jennifer Meron proposed that we accept 1997 Summer Group Committee Meeting Recommendation #2 which states:

That groups with a Special Needs Athlete may include a photocopy of a medical form with the declaration and with each competition entry form. The competition director will notify the Head Judge for consideration while judging.

INTENT: To allow judges to be more sensitive on critiques and score sheets.
