  Lynda Feingold moved that the Technical Committee recommend to the Board of Directors that the selection of Canadian Judges for World Championships 1990 be as attached.

 

1991 SBM MOTION #19
  Betty Infilise moved that all judges on the CBTF Team Trial Panel be advised that airfare and hotel will be paid by CBTF for the second judge for Worlds and, that if any judge on the panel is interested in being that second judge, that they submit their name and a short resume in writing to the National Technical Chairperson or Judges Rep by the beginning of compulsories on July 4, 1991.

  Betty Infilise moved that the Technical Chair, Judges Rep and Past Technical Chair determine the criteria for selection of the second judge for the 1991 Worlds; and that the Technical Chair, Judges Rep and Past Technical Chair determine who the second judge for the 1991 Worlds will be, based on the selection critieria.

  Nancy Beachin moved that, to be eligible to judge at the World Championships, a judge must have judged the Canadian Team Trials (freestyle and compulsories with at least 15 competitors in those divisions) in that year.

  Nancy Beachin moved that, in order to be eligible to judge at the World Championships, in addition to judging at the Canadian Team Trials, the judge must also have judged at least one Provincial Team Trial OR have been a judge at the World level in the last 5 years. The judge must have 5 years Freestyle judging experience.

Karen Gratton moved that the following statement be added to the World Judge Selection Process:

World Judges must have judged at the Canadian Team Trials in the year they are scheduled to judge at Worlds.

CLARIFICATION: Extenuating circumstances will be considered by the CBTF Executive.

 

2008 SBM MOTION #25
  Jeff Johnson moved that the judges meeting held prior to the start of Canadian Team Trials be sanctioned as a WBTF Master Judge Update. Attendance by all Canadian Team Trial Judges at that year's Team Trials is mandatory. All other Master Judges are welcome to attend. Funding for this meeting will come from the Judges Program. The meeting shall be a minimum of 3 hours in duration.

Karen Gratton moved that the following shall clarify what those judges who have the (old) M5 course certification and those judges who have the WBTF Masters certification are qualified to judge:

  • M5 with no Short Program: provincial & national team trial events excluding Short Program
  • M5 with Short Program: provincial & national team trial events including Short Program
  • Masters: provincial & national team trial events including Short Program and World Championships

 

2009 FBM MOTION #30 (2009 FTM - Prop #19)

  • That CBTF certified M2 judges are qualified to judge Solo, 2-Baton and 3-Baton at the CBTF International Cup Qualifier and the WBTF International Cup.
  • That CBTF certified M3 judges are qualified to judge Team and Group at the CBTF International Cup Qualifier and WBTF International Cup
  • That CBTF certified M5 (old course) judges are qualified to judge Solo, 2-Baton, 3-Baton, Team and Group at the CBTF International Cup Qualifier and WBTF International Cup
  • That CBTF certified Master judges are qualified to judge Solo, 2-Baton, 3-Baton, Team and Group at the CBTF International Cup Qualifier and WBTF International Cup

CLARIFICATION: Once the WBTF establishes its rules & guidelines for Solo Dance Twirl and Pair Dance Twirl, those eligibility criteria will be re-evaluated.

2013 Fall Conference MOTION #19 (Pre-FTM Proposal 8)
 

Karen Gratton proposed that the number of judges for the rounds at International Cup Qualifier (based on six National judges as selected through the Judges’ Selection Process and 3 local M2 or higher judges trained as penalty judges) be as follows:

Individual/Artistic Pair Events

Preliminary Round 3 lanes of 2 judges each plus 1 penalty/content restriction judge
Semi-Final Round (if required) 2 lanes of 3 judges each plus 1 penalty/content restriction judge
Final Round: 2 lanes of 3 judges each plus 1 penalty/content restriction judge

Team/Group Events

Prelimary Round 2 lanes of 2 judges each plus 1 penalty judge and 1 content restriction judge on each lane
Final Round 2 lanes of 3 judges each plus 1 penalty judge and 1 content restriction judge on each lane 

CLARIFICATION: It is acceptable for one or both Preliminary Round judges of an event/division to be a member(s) of the Final Round (and Semi-Final Round) judges’ panel of the same event/division.

 

2013 Fall Conference MOTION #20 (Pre-FTM Proposal 9)
  Karen Gratton proposed that Penalty and Content Restriction judges required for the International Cup Qualifier must hold a CBTF M2 or higher certification and shall be selected by the CBTF Technical Chairperson in consultation with Local Host Organizing Committee Chairperson. Those chosen may also be hired to judge any open competition held in conjunction with the ICQ.

 

2014 FBM MOTION #16
 

Elan moved that 2014 FTM Proposal #6 be accepted:

That, at all open and provincial sanctioned competitions, International Cup Qualifier and International Cup, a judge with M5 (up until 2017) and Master’s Certification must be used to judge the Artistic Twirl and Artistic Pair events.

  Michelle moved that four (4) CBTF Judges shall be funded to the 2015 International Cup in Abbotsford, BC. The expenses shall be shared equally between CBTF and the Contingent athletes.
