4. That the scrutineers, after counting the ballots, will report to the presiding officer, eg: Candidate A received a majority or there was no majority.

E: Majority
4. If there is only one nominee and there is no majority there is no election and the position is vacant.

G: Procedures
3(c). If the person nominated is not present, the presiding officer shall ask the member making the nomination if she/he has written acceptance from the nominee. If he/she has not, a recess of 15 minutes may be called at the end of nominations for that position to contact the nominee so that the presiding officer can obtain his/her acceptance.

6. If elections .... are will take office immediately following the end of the competition. The present executive will fulfill their obligations regarding the duties of their office.

7. If a newly elected executive committee member was, at the time of the elections, a member of the CBTF Board of Directors representing a province or a group .... resign that board position within 30 days of taking office as an executive member.

Karen Gratton moved that the time line as outlined in the CBTF Policy Manual, Section X, "CBTF National Elections" that pertains to nomination procedures for all elected positions be waived for the 2008 CBTF National Elections. Furthermore the Nomination Committee, as per "Duties of Nomination Committee, Section A, #10", shall provide a written listing of all persons nominated to stand for any elected position (except Judges Rep, Coaches Rep and Athletes Rep results which will be announced during the AGM) to the CBTF Secretary on or before May 20, 2008 to allow for adequate time to prepare the 2008 AGM Agenda.

CLARIFICATION: The revised deadlines regarding nominations shall be as follows:
- Last day to nominate is April 30, 2008
- Last day for those who are nominated to indicate acceptance of the nomination is May 15, 2008

Karen Gratton moved to revise the nomination and election procedures for Judges Rep, Coaches Rep and Athletes Rep as outlined in the CBTF Policy Manual, Sections B & C to add that nomination forms sent out by the Nomination Committee and ballot returned by the voters may be mailed, faxed or E-mailed.

Note: With regards to emailed votes, the Nomination Committee shall email a confirmation of receipt to the sender immediately upon receipt of the sender's vote.
