2009-2010 CBTF Volunteer of the Year Awarded

July 5, 2010 - The 2009-2010 Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Elan Paluck at the 2010 Canadian Baton Twirling Championships, being held in Toronto, Ontario.

Joanne Moser, CBTF 1st Vice-President, presented the award and read from the nomination:

The sport of baton twirling relies heavily on the support and involvement of our volunteers. On behalf of the CBTF board of directors we thank everyone who has contributed to our success by volunteering your time.

Each year, we receive nominations for a CBTF volunteer of the year. This person is someone who demonstrates a strong commitment to the sport and has made a valuable contribution to the development of the sport of baton in Canada.

This year's recipient has dedicated countless hours of her life to the sport, first as an athlete, then judge and coach. She is also a baton mom, who like all baton parents invests much energy into providing the best environment for her child to enjoy baton.

Our volunteer of the year has given much of her time to CBTF over the years. This year was no exception. Her commitment to our National Team Trials required a significant sacrifice of her time away from family and work. She took the lead in being the competition director for the 2010 National Team Trials in Regina this past May, putting together a superb competition - well supported, meticulously timed, engaging for the athletes and all participants, and an overall success in all respects.

We offer our thanks to the 2009-2010 CBTF volunteer of the Year, Elan Paluck.
