(For example, declared Jr. B Solo but wanting to enter Jr. A Solo due to a move up this competition season from CBTF B to CBTF A).

Changes to an athlete's IC Declaration were permitted and were submitted with the athlete's entry to the IC Qualifier. For example, an athlete declared as Solo B could change to Solo A by simply entering the IC Qualifier in the Solo A division.

The Event Register for the IC Qualifier will be posted on the website shortly. Coaches will have 7 days to submit any changes or corrections to the information contained in that Event Register.

There are many resources available...

The 2013 IC Qualifier will be held in Barrie, Ontario, on May 18 and 19. A practice day in the competition venue is scheduled for May 17 and a Contingent Meeting will be held on May 20.

Yes - the Level entered in the Qualifier may be different from the Level declared.

All competitors are expected to respect the WBTF Philosophy Statement for an Equitable Competition Among International Cup Athletes:

It is the responsibility of the coach and athlete to enter the appropriate International Cup level based on the athlete’s true proficiency of skills and experience. The WBTF expects that all member countries will respect and honor these levels in order to uphold the integrity of International competition and promote an honest competitive environment.

By reviewing the content restrictions that are in place, athletes should enter the appropriate level based on their proficiency and competitive achievement. Athletes who compete at higher levels throughout the year in their respective countries, SHOULD NOT have routines “watered-down” in order to meet the content restriction requirement to compete at a lower level.

The CBTF aims to support this philosophy and issued the following guideline:

IC Level B IC Level A IC Level Elite
Solo CBTF Level B Solo athletes CBTF Level A Solo athletes Current/former World Championship freestyle athletes AND athletes with an average score in Solo exceeding 7.5 at the 2012 Canadian Championships
2-Baton CBTF Level B 2-Baton athletes CBTF Level A 2-Baton athletes Current/former World Championship freestyle athletes AND athletes with an average score in 2-Baton exceeding 7.5 at the 2012 Canadian Championships
3-Baton CBTF Level B 3-Baton athletes CBTF Level A 3-Baton athletes Current/former World Championship freestyle athletes AND athletes with an average score in 3-Baton exceeding 7.5 at the 2012 Canadian Championships
Artistic Twirl CBTF Level B SoloDance or Level B Freestyle athlete CBTF Level A SoloDance or Level A Freestyle athlete Current/former World Championship freestyle athletes AND anyone with an average score in SoloDance exceeding 7.5 at the 2012 Canadian Championships
Artistic Pair CBTF Level B Duets or Level B Pairs CBTF Level A Duets or Level A Pairs Any Pair that has represented Canada at World Championship competition or any Pair that is comprised of current/former World Championship freestyle athletes
Team / Group Coaches should establish their Team/Group status in a manner consistent with the above guidelines.

Note: Exceptions may be granted for non-World Championship athletes who are scoring close to the 6.0 (Level A) or 7.5 (Elite) range. Coaches should contact the CBTF Technical Chairperson (technicalchair [at] cbtf [dot] ca) to discuss these situations prior to the submitting their IC Qualifier entry.
