Coaches LEVEL 1 Course

To become a fully certified Level 1 Coach the following components must be successfully obtained:

1. TECHNICAL - CBTF

  • Minimum age 16 years old
  • Must be a member in good standing of the CBTF Technical Association
  • Successfully complete the CBTF Level 1 Coaches Course administered by a CBTF-affiliated Baton Twirling Association

2. PRACTICAL - CBTF

  • Participation and understanding of the practical applications of the course
  • Understanding of Technical Skills (Pass/Fail from course participation)

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

  • Must be a member in good standing of the CBTF (any membership type).
  • Minimum age to take the course is 16 years old (must be at least 16 or older on the day of the course).
  • Must purchase a CBTF Level 1 Coaches Manual in which the following assignments must be completed and submitted to the course conductor prior to the course commencing: Coaching Credentials and Pre-Entrance Open Book Examination

CBTF TECHNICAL AND PRACTICAL COURSE EXPECTATIONS

  • Attendance – 100%
  • Obtain a score of greater than 70% on the Pre-entrance Examination
  • Submission of Coaching Credentials
  • Must obtain an overall score of 70% calculated as follows:
    • Pre-entrance Examination = 30%
    • Practical Examination = 60%
    • Engagement and Participation = 10%
  • Understanding of Technical Skills (Pass/Fail from course participation)

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Each coach participate in the CBTF Skills Development Program
  • Each coach participate in a First Aid Course
  • Each coach attend NCCP Part A in preparation for the Level 2 Coaching Program

Coaches LEVEL 2 Course

To become a fully certified Level 2 Coach the following three components must be successfully obtained:

1. Theory - NCCP

  • Successful completion of the National Coaches Certification Program Course ‘Introduction to Competition - Part B’ (modules Design a Sport Program, Teaching & Learning, Basic Mental Skills). NCCP Part B is offered by Provincial Sport Organizations.

2. Technical - CBTF

  • Successfully complete the CBTF Level 2 Technical Portion administered by the Provincial Baton Twirling Association
  • Must pass the Technical and Coaches Level 2 Pre-entrance examination with a score of greater than 70%
  • Must pass the Technical and Coaches Level 2 Practical examination with a score of greater than 70%

3. Practical - CBTF

  • Participation and understanding of the practical applications of the course (Pass/Fail from course participation)

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Level 1 Coaching Certification (Completion of Current Level 1 CBTF Course).
  • Awareness of Yellow, Orange, Red & Maroon Badges.
  • Must be a member in good standing of the CBTF Technical Association.
  • Must purchase a CBTF Level 2 Coaches Manual in which the following assignments must be completed and submitted to the course conductor prior to the course commencing:
    • Coaching Credentials
    • Pre-entrance Open Book Examination - Technical
    • Pre-entrance Open Book Examination - Coaches Level 2
  • Must complete all of the CBTF Technical and Practical Expectations:
    • Attendance - 100% of the Technical and Coaches Level 2 portions of the course
    • Obtain a score of greater than 70% on the Technical and Coaches Level 2 Pre-entrance Examinations
    • Obtain a score of greater than 70% on the Technical and Coaches Level 2 Practical Examinations
    • Understanding of the Technical Skills (Pass/Fail from course participation)
  • Minimum Age to take the course is 16 years old (must be at least 16 or older on the day of the course).

Coaches LEVEL 3 Course

To become a fully certified Level 3 Coach the following three components must be successfully obtained:

1. Theory - NCCP
